I purchased this licensed floyd rose trem with the intention of installing it as a hard tail bridge on my budget strat build. The project itself has been a little over a year and a half of messing around with ideas before implementing them. The guitar started out as a 2006 Fender Squire Bullet Stratocaster, I took the original neck off and swapped it with a wenge neck from amazon, installed locking tuners also from amazon, purchased a loaded pickguard with musiclily hot rails from amazon, completely rewired it with b500k pots and a 3 way on/on/on mini switch all available here on amazon, and disassembled this licensed floyd rose and installed it as a fixed bridge on the project. I installed it 24 hours ago and after shimming the neck to 1.5 degrees, raising the pickups, intonating the saddles, and letting it sit overnight, the bridge has retained tuning and looks very good. The only issue I really have with it, and this is not an issue with anything that could be considered a serious critique is that the gold on the floyd does not match the gold in my screws or tuners. A minor issue that will be rectified when I swap the gold fine tuners for black as well as rewiring the pickguard again with another round of different electronics and I pull off the pickup covers. For a stupid upgrade, I'm very happy with the quality of the product, the finish of the product, and the results of the product. The packaging does leave a bit to be desired showing up not in a box but an unpadded poly bag inside of a polymailer but for the price I would have been happy with just about anything showing up at all. I will say that since everything else is included for installation the company making these should just up the price by a couple dollars and include a string retainer bar instead of making the consumer buy another one for roughly $10. But I'm not going to knock points off just for that.
