US made, full metal, sturdy. Its really deep so easily things can fit inside. The main housing is approx. 1" deep and on front of which this 2.5 / 3" cover attaches. In effect one gets almost 4" of head space in the front of the outlet.Why 1 star loss? First they should change the screws to Philips. 100 times easier to work with. Next, the installation is not very easy. After the gasket is attached one looses sight of where the holes are underneath the gasket. Next the appropriate metal plate which sits insider the housing need to be carefully balanced while threading the appropriate screw into the hidden hole cutting thru the gasket. All the while the top unit keeps moving, the main cover keeps falling. I would have provided a 2 side tape to attach the outlet cover inside the main unit. Next, i would have provided a (disposable) plastic tab to hold the cover from falling or like a hinge pin to hold the cover even partially up.
