The Good:1. It's pretty, and I love the way this fireplace looks. It feels solid and fits in with the rest of my decor really nicely.2. The firebox is nice and toasty - yay! It's rated to heat I think 400sqft of space, so it is good for a single room in most homes, or small apartments.3. The customizable light, fire, and log glow aspect is a nice touch you can really make the atmosphere you want.4. This was pretty easy to assemble and took me about an hour solo to build with the use of an electric screwdriver. I do recommend you put this together with a drill or similar electric device, since there are a lot of screws and Cam Lock nuts to put in place. It went a lot faster this way! Directions were clear and easy.5. My fireplace didn't arrive with any damage like others mentioned in there reviews - each of the 3 boxes it came in were pretty hardcore with the styrofoam protective layers too.The Bad:1. There are no pre-cut holes in the side shelves to allow for cable management. Not the end of the world and easily fixed with a circle cutter, but that would have been nice.2. The remote, while it works, doesn't turn the fireplace unit ON. I have to manually turn the firebox on at which point the remote does let me change settings for light, heat, flame, and log intensity. It also allows me to turn the firebox OFF... just... not on. This isn't ideal, and it the entire reason for my 4/5 star rating. If this worked, it'd be 5/5!The Final Takeaway:This attractive, nearly perfect, fireplace was a great purchase and I would recommend it, though I wish the remote would turn the unit on.Simple but elegantBeautiful piece of furniture! We were looking for a fireplace for our new home and saw this with the bookshelves on either side. It’s absolutely perfect! Assembly was easy, the brick accent inside looks nice and it puts out good heat. We have had this for about a month and are really enjoying it.This fireplace tv console is very pretty. The stones look real. I love it. My 20 yr old grandson put it together by himself. I’m happy with it.I love this setup and fireplace. It's exactly what I was hoping for. I'm thankful for some friends that help me put it together! It would have been impossible to put together by myself. It took three of us and they knew what they were doing. FYI there is no wholes or anything to put cords through for tv wires, DVDs, game systems... things like that. My friends manually put a while in the back so I could feed one of the wires through. The shelves can also be taken out and changed heights, which is nice! LOVE IT!I measured our tv cabinet and it matched up with the measurements of the fireplaces and bookcases. However, when I got it assembled it was was just too small. It looks like it belongs in a play house, not a real house. Also, the fire box must have been dropped. There's some damage on the left side which was hidden when placed in the cabinet. I didn't notice until I turned on the unit that a piece of the rubber seal on the right side of the glass had popped out and hangs across the logs. Now I have to go through the hassle of getting it replaced and reassembled. Not worth the cost.Easy to assemble with good directions. It is very sturdy and looks very nice and good quality. The fire looks really good for being fake. Puts out good heat just like a small 1500 watt space heater would.
