Description
The safest way to keep your trees looking sharp, the Worx 10” – 8A Electric Pole Saw is a well-balanced chainsaw that you can easily hoist in the air. Or, take off the pole and use it for regular chainsaw projects down on the ground. It’s got a lot of bite for a 10” bar, and plenty of modern features that make it easy to use. With a 28 ft/s chain speed and advanced auto lubrication and tensioning systems, you’ll always have a powerful saw at your disposal. The oil level window lets you know when you’ll need to refill. And the auto tension knob will never let you turn too far to potentially damage the chain. This ergonomically engineered pole saw features a handle that rotates 180° so you can turn the whole saw on its side without having to turn your body. The pole attaches and detaches easily. The handguard protects you from falling debris. And an off/on switch on the bottom of the pole lets you start or stop the saw without bringing it up and down repeatedly. This is an electric chainsaw, so you don’t have to worry about all the downsides of gas-powered tools: This saw will be less expensive to run and maintain, cleaner for both you and the environment, and much quieter. This is 2 saws for the price of one. Plus, it’s the safer way to trim your branches.

Bought this to remove some lower limbs from an old hemlock tree for which I didn't feel comfortable using a ladder because the ground underneath was soft and steeply sloping, and the falling limbs were heavy enough and positioned to easily knock me off the ladder. Figured even a single use was much cheaper than hiring a professional tree company and much, much cheaper than landing in the hospital. Plus, I could always return it if it was a complete POS.Pros: Extremely easy and intuitive to assemble, and comes with a nicely sharpened "Oregon" chain. Chain tension adjuster is simple to use. Easily cut through 4 - 6 inch hemlock boughs. Removing the saw from the pole gives you a light-duty conventional chain saw.Cons: As other reviewers have noted, the weight of the saw on a fully extended pole is a handful. I'm no Charles Atlas, but I go to the gym every day and I'm no 110 lb. weakling, either. Something other than just a relatively small diameter pole to provide leverage and hang onto would greatly improve usability. I found the best strategy was to swing the darn thing up and drop it on top of where you wanted to cut, then turn it on and let it plus gravity do it's thing.Bottom line: I'm keeping the saw because I'll probably need it again and it did what I hoped it would. That said, the plastic chain drive gear and other components remind me of something from HF, and I'm under no illusions that this will be a cherished heirloom tool handed down with grandkids saying: "Remember when grandpa used this to rebuild the '48 Packard?" I'll be very satisfied f I get more than a handful of uses out of it before it dies. The only possible way this could have been any easier to set up and operate is if it came with the required bar chain oil needed to run it. I used it first as a stand-alone chainsaw which it did marvelously at for its size. I then attached it to the included pole by simple deduction and didn't need the instructions to figure out how to use it that way. It ought to go without saying though that it has a bit of weight to it and on the fully extended pole it does take a great deal of care, balance, and strength to safely cut limbs up that high. Mostly the being prepared for the limbs you cut to sometimes swing down and fall at unexpected angles.Overall I am very pleased with this purchase.Coming from a manual extension saw, this pole saw made quick work of my trees. I didn't use much chain oil and don't forget to also purchase bar/chain oil since it doesn't come with any. Probably needs to use more oil as the chain got a bit hot and got loose, but not a huge issue. Adjusting the chain tension wasn't the most difficult and worked. Now with the bad, this thing is heave when fully extended. I wished it extended more, but due to the weight it makes for a real workout. It's ok when extended directly above you, but hey branches drop straight down after cutting. After the saw cuts through get ready for a real workout to hold it up and prevent from hitting the ground. If they could make the saw end lighter and extend higher, it would be a perfect product.I ordered one of these almost 5 years ago and used it for hundreds of hours. The chain stays sharp a surprisingly long time. It hasnt had a sungle issue. Its no gas powered saw but its surprisingly powerful. I hate gas anyway "oohh the carb us bad""OOHHHH it needs a new spark plug""Oohhh out of gas""Oohhh cylinder is scored""Oohhh Air filter decayed and now motor is shot""Oohh its leaking oil everywherre and now its siezed bc it ran out"Its such a headacheElectric always works and needs virtually 0 maintenance. The ability to trim limbs 15' up without a ladder or climbing is like a superpower. It is extremely heavy at full extension but you learm to like "lean" it on the limb and let its own weight cut then let it slowly fall by "choking up" on it after the cut.It is so indispensable that I ordered 3 more when they would go on sale as backups and different sights.Cant say enough good about these things definitely worth the purchaseThe saw is great cuts through everything I have needed oak, elm, pine and spruce. The pole seemed a bit weak when first extending it. The plastic coupling broke about 20 minutes into using it. Was able to hold it together to finish the limbs then detached the saw and cut up all the branches. Would appreciate a link to get a replacement pole. Will not give up the saw.I had a tree that took some wind damage and I needed to cut off some limbs that were rather high. This thing got the job done and cut right through the tree. I was impressed for being less than $100. I cleaned up and put it away, and the next day it had an oil puddle around it. I was able to return it and I took the replacement. Hoping it won’t happen again, it I will not know for sure until I need it again.I had some walnut trees coming up in a huge patch of juniper. They were way too thick for hedge trimmers and too far away to reach with a set of manual pruners, so they kept getting bigger and thicker. I was able to reach them without climbing into the juniper bushes and it took those walnut trees down in a snap. The pole is a bit hard to manage if it's fully extended and you can only grip the bottom, the chainsaw is pretty heavy-handed you can only grip the opposite end of the pole. The trees were about 2 or 2.5 inches thick. Once the trees were down I took the saw off of the pole and make quick work of cutting them up into smaller pieces. The saw operates smoothly and seems to be well powered and should be able to handle much thicker logs. The pole works well fir reaching stuff that is normally inaccessible.Had great hopes for this pole saw. Good: Oregon Bar and Chain. Detachable chain saw. Long Warranty. The Bad: Chain tensioner is poorly designed, with cheap metal screw. Didn't want to work. Chain fell off. Concerned I might snap the screw if I reefed on it. Chain cover is plastic. Pole wrapped in black paper or vinyl; peeling at the seams. That said, this unit had good reviews, so I am thinking all of these cheap consumer grade pole saws are lame. The concept is good, but execution; not so much. I returned it after trying it out one time. Suspect old fashion manual pole saw would work as well, or better, and certainly for less cost. That's where I am headed. This will help you get those annoying limbs that are about 20 feet up. It can be a little jiggly when reaching real far. It does the job though. Just make sure you don’t reach over your fence and cut your neighbours tree. They really get mad about that.Cuts through branches like butter. Chain stays tight as long as you cut up against the stop. If you try to cut in the middle of the blade it will come loose after a couple of cuts. I like the fact that the pole telescopes but it does get a little heavy for me when fully extended. I'm 69 but my son had no problem with it. Also easy to attach the pole to it.The saw and pole are more unwieldy than expected when the pole is fully extended. I ended up climbing onto the garage roof and using a hand chainsaw to clear the branches instead. I likely will use it at shorter lengths. When I tried to register it online it did not matter which link I attempted to use (there are 3) as none of them worked. Server not found. I was eventually booted out and could not get back into my account. There is also no indication as to where the serial number is located yet it is required to register.
