I 100% recommend this product. & here’s how I use it:For starters let me tell you that where the pink is in the picture was professionally bleached a year ago prior to me dying my hair bright colors. This pink isn’t over my brown hair that’s showing at the top, it definitely gives a pink hue but won’t make it vibrant (and I don’t use it for that). So I highly recommend getting a professional to bleach/lighten your hair first where you want color. Here’s my process:I apply the jar to my hair. For me it takes about 2 jars because my hair is long. I try to let it sit for 30 minutes. Then I take a shower. I do not let the water run clear. I shampoo my scalp with my back to the water and my hair in front to try not to rinse my pink ends. Then I grab conditioner & brush my hair in the shower & then rinse out the globs of dye. When I get out of the shower my hair is still dripping bright pink dye and my bathtub looks like a crime scene but it’s worth it. Also my hands are stained due to me not using gloves when I rinse it in the shower. Rubbing alcohol gets this off your counter, skin (just be careful). I purposely keep some extra dye in my hair to let it absorb through the next 24 hours because my vivid hairdresser recommended that. Now I keep my hair in a towel for a little while so my hair isn’t soaking wet. & then I’ll try to throw it up or put it in a braid because it will transfer onto your skin, back, shirt. So wear dark clothes the first day. After 3-4 days since I dyed it, it stops transferring onto you & your clothes. & even during those 3-4 days it transfers less and less. At this point I still haven’t washed it… I don’t wash it for 1 & a 1/2 weeks. For anyone with greasy hair that says they can’t wait, trust me I know. Dry shampoo is your friend (batiste is a good one). I’ll wrap my hair in bandanas etc. 1 you want to not wash your hair so frequently because the ends are dry and not getting the oil, and 2 you don’t want to waste this vibrant pretty color. Embrace your greasy hair, it took me awhile but I did. I apply the color every time or every other time I was my hair because I like it super saturated without any fading. It doesn’t fade horribly if you wash a few times before reapplying but you’ll notice it’s not as vibrant. Now I’ve tried many hair dyes because I wanted less maintenance and longer lasting dye.. there isn’t. Splat looked like crap and damaged my hair. Ion brights wasn’t as bright. I just haven’t found anything else better. Even when my hairdresser dyed my hair this bright color, it didn’t last more than a few washes without fading. So it’s expected! I hope this helps, but yes I recommend this product and think it’s the best for achieving this bright hair color look.I had gotten both the Vampire red and Raven black. I planned on doing a split dye to my hair but nothing went according to plan. Oh my hair was split all right but the red decided to seep with the black and create a really dark purple (which was very close to black). Now what’s the problem you may ask! Well there wasn’t a problem necessarily it was more of an annoyance. So here I am butt crack deep in hair dye, everything going wrong.I had just started to wash the dye out after like 2 hours and wasn’t paying much attention. I got out of the shower and went up to the mirror and peered in.Yoh and behold this purplish monster standing before me with its hair in front of its face and dripping with shower water. The most gruesome bitch face I’ve ever seen on anything’s face. As I stared back at it it’s scrawl only became deeper.I looked behind me and turned back around only to realize “wait a damn minute where is my reflection!?” I looked deeper beneath the purple…lifted my hands in front of my eyes and peered at the offensive purple appendages.I was purple! Mind you I used gloves to put it in my hair. The same could not be said about rinsing it out though. And so I finish up and walk out about to head to work because I had work…yea stupid I know! When I got there my manager took one look at me and started laughing. Crying even. I was sent back home to freshen up again. I came back looking a now sickly blue color and all my coworkers were now dying at this image of me.I was dishwasher for the rest of the day (I work food industry fyi and tend to chat with most of the customers).Moral of the story please pay attention to how you are rinsing your hair, my leg hair follicles have never been the same since then!I still live in constant fear of the purple monster in the mirror every time I look into the mirror.I used to use manic panic as a teen and loved it. As an adult I always just go to a salon and get my fun colors put in that way.The manic panic that i used as a teen was never vegan so I don't know if that makes a difference. I do know that dye reviews I have watched the vegan dyes tend to not be as vibrate or latch on as well. That being said I did miss where this was vegan. However, I can say I don't think that would have changed me purchasing this at the time that I did. I more wanted to put that out there for someone that is looking at this because it is vegan, be sure to check out videos on how it looks.Because this is such a light pink you really need to have your hair bleached to blonde if it isn't already. My daughter's hair was a dirty blonde when we used it, and we used it for the fact it was lighter on purpose so when it faded it would hopefully be unnoticable once school started if we hadn't gotten it all out.unfortunately this was too light so it didn't really show up in her hair. But i wasn't taking extra steps (bleaching her hair) to make it really show up. so for us in this paticular moment this color was a fail, I would happily try this in a darker shade for her next time with out bleaching. before going a bleaching route, since she cant have fun colors in her hair for school.as far as the process of using the product it was 100% easy and on point just like I remembered. Ma non lo farò.I've wanted to try manic panic for a few years as there's a lot good press and impressive pics online of the colours, but I won't buy this brand again, for what you get its over priced with dicey results.I'm not new to fashion colours and dying my own hair, I have tried many different shades and brands over the years and I'm unimpressed by this brand.Just a note to say the bottom 1/3 if my hair already had a faded base colour of pink one side and purple the other, which is why the colours look better at the bottom of my hair. It's a gel consistency similar to rebellious colour, but triple+ the price for not as good results.Colours are lighter than advertised (cotton candy and atomic turquoise) and as soon as I felt the consistency and put it on I could tell it was not going to stick to my freshly bleached roots. luckily i had some Live pink which I have used to hide some of the most visible patches where it wouldn't take, but I will definitely have to re do both sides soon. There's literally no depth to the colours and no shine, which considering this dye is much more expensive than others I was expecting a better result. On the plus side its easy to apply and the colours are pretty evwn if they aren't as advertised, it doesn't have a bad smell to it, smells like emollient cream when applying, also it doesn't make a mess as it's thick and I have minimal skin staining, even with the blue shade.I'll stick to bleach lnd, crazy cour and colour freedom.from now on.The colour sunset orange saved my hair so bad you have no idea.So I bleached my hair and it went wrong SO SO WRONG. My hair was super stretchy and when it was dry it was a frizz ball.So because I bleached my hair, it was an awful yellow. I used hair treatments until my hair was in a better condition. I then tried red hair dyes and nothing would hold. Literally nothing..My last resort is was sunset orange. It’s the first time I’ve ever used manic panic and because others failed I wasn’t expecting much with this. It’s a cream, I didn’t use a developer like some people have, I used it straight from the pot. It felt so moisturising straight away. It said minimum time for as 30 minutes so I left it on for about an hour as there’s nothing harsh. My hair felt really great after I rinsed it, I didn’t shampoo it, I left it 72 hours before washing it so it gave the hair to properly close itself. My hair actually held the colour! It came out a beautiful ginger colour. I didn’t want it bright orange to begin with because funnily enough I wanted it ginger.I’ve never had a dye so forgiving in my hair. I’m not bothered what colour it was, it held the colour and got rid of the gross yellow.I highly recommend it if your hair is on its last legs. Also along side it use a good hair mask with protein, a strengthening shampoo and conditioner. I paid around £15 each for mine. I don’t know If we can say what the brand of the shampoo and conditioner so I won’t. but it’s worth it. I had to chop a lot of hair off to get rid of the fried crispy hair.I hope this review helps.I dye my hair pretty often and psychadelic sunset is the most vibrant orange I've found to date. It goes perfectly with vibrant pink tones.I will buy more of this when I need to, it smells good, leaves my hair feeling soft and shiny and looks amazing. Thankfully didnt stain my skin or my bath unlike some other dyes. The only con is how small the pot is. As you can see from my images, only half of my hair is orange and my hair is shoulder length. The pot only JUST covered it. I definitely reccomend buying multiple pots if your hair is longer or youre doing a full head!Honestly so happy with how well my hair turned out.I notice a lot of reviews complaining that this product didn't do anything etc.I used it to tone a friend's hair after we bleached it with 40 volume developer. It definitely neutralised the yellow tones in his hair and left it pretty close to platinum blonde. We then went in with Manic Panic Electric Pink Pussycat with fantastic results! Followed the instructions on the box closely. This will NOT work if you have strong yellow tones in your hair after bleaching. Be patient and do another round of bleach, then use this. This will also not work at all for orange tones - you are better off toning those with repeated applications of blue colour / blue shampoo. General rule - purple neutralises yellow; blue neutralizes orange. We applied the toner to hair that had been washed and dried after bleaching. Left it in for around 45 minutes then rinsed out. Make sure you saturate the hair with the toner for best results - it's hard to gauge since it's a pale colour on pale hair but just go in with more than you think you need and you should hit the right amount :DUnfortunately toners like Wella's colour charm series aren't available that easily in India so this is what we need to make do with. But I'd say it does the job if you use it on sufficiently pre-lightened hair, saturate, and leave in for 30-45 minutes.
