I've usually only played soprano ukes and wanted something that was higher quality, had richer tone and was more playable for my big hands.After a lot of looking, I chose the OU6LCE. I'm extremely happy with the build quality. The wood's very attractive with a really nice grain, the sound is mellow and expressive and the action and intonation are spot on. It's so nice having geared tuners so I don't have to muck around with slipping pegs. The cutaway is also something I'd wanted badly since I like playing way up on the 12th fret at times and with the great intonation, I'm really happy with the playability of this instruments.It's nice to see the uke came with Aquila Nylagut strings, since that's my favorite brand, but I'll probably change over to a Low G set for the next string change. I'll probably choose Oscar Schmidt to replace my el cheapo soprano when the time comes.
