FUNCTION: Used these gloves for my 30 minute highway commute this morning with 40 degree temps. At first the gloves did not seem to be getting warm and I pulled over to check all the connections. All was good and temp was set to 5 (high) so I kept riding. After about 15 minutes I realized that only the top side of the glove was heated. I found myself constantly pushing my fingers towards the clutch and brake levers so the top of the glove would touch my fingers and heat them up. The heat was only minimal and just enough to keep fingers from going numb but certainly not enough to have warm fingers. I would not recommend this glove for cold weather riding below 40 degrees if you don't have heated grips.Note: This glove did however do far better than the newest and most expensive battery powered 7V glove I recently tried.FIT: I typically wear and XL or XXL. I ordered the XL as I have read heated gear should be on the snug side. I was a bit worried about the fit as my fingers felt smashed in the finger tips. However, after wearing around the house for a bit and making a fist a few times the material seemed to loosen up a bit proving a perfect fit. I would say the sizing is about right compared to other XL gloves.Cons: not enough heat on high setting, bottom of glove is not heated, liner comes out when removing hands.Pros: not bulky, allowed for easy control of bike, well made, comfortable, comes with heat controller (major bonus!!!!).I honestly wonder if the designers ride motorcycles. Likewise, I wonder if product development bothered to try these before going to market.First, there's no curl to the hand, so expect fatigue.Second, the heating elements are on the outside of the hand, so the back of the hand feels the warmth while the fingers FREEZE.Third, the velcro straps at the back of the hand and on the cuff have no tab to grab with a gloved hand. Likewise, the strap on the back of the hand is short, so expect it to slip out of the loop from time to time, at which point you'll have to take off the first glove to re-thread the tab on the second glove.Fourth, the gaiter is completely unnecessary, and serves to resist your efforts to get the cuff over your jacket sleeve.Fifth, the cuff is very small, competing with the gaiter to frustrate your efforts to get the cuff over your jacket sleeve.I've been using these daily for about a month, and it STILL takes me five to ten minutes to get these on.Two stars because they're better than unheated gauntlets. But not by much.I bought these and the jacket liner and have the system installed on my ATV for plowing snow and winter riding.. Works well have to turn down jacket but the gloves don't get as warm.... I would like them to be somewhat warmer but they work.. I was on my four wheeler for 4 hours in 5 degree weather and was comfortable... But gloves not as warm as the jacket I have large hands and the large gloves fit snug... If had to do over May buy Extra largeFirst set of gloves lasted me almost 10 years. The new design for the heat control is MUCH better. I have been quite happy and the second pair. My only comment is that the seam for the thumb is centered over the nail and that tends to put it into the wind when riding. My thumb is always the first to get cold. With these gloves I can ride at temps down to 40deg with out much discomfortDon't forget to treat them as a leather and get some good leather treatment oil. I use the same stuff I would on my boots.I live in Colorado and have to endure some very cold weather riding, at times. The Tourmaster Synergy gloves I purchased are connected to the Synergy 2.0 liner and plug right into the sleeves. Very easy installation and VERY warm! The fit is a bit snug but I'm sure that is to make sure the contact with warm fabric to skin is being made. I have big, not huge, hands and I bought the XL gloves. Suggestion: try them on before you buy them! Also, turn them up before you start out. It is easier to turn them down to a good temp than it is to try to get warm after your fingers have gotten cold.The gloves seem reasonably well made, but do lack motorcycle-specific design considerations such as finger curve. Worst, though, is that they barely get warm. I did 10 highway miles at just under 40 degrees and my hands were cold. Tour Master sent a replacement dual controller (I use the heated liner), and that didn't make any difference. The liner is toasty and responds well to the controller, but the gloves are cold. Lastly, because I delayed in testing the gloves (summer purchase, winter use), I got no customer support from dealer or manufacturer.I don't think that I could have been more disappointed in the way this product PERFORMED. The initial out of the box presentation was great. They seem to be well constructed and they are a good looking pair of gloves. That said - When I tried them on they seemed a bit snug but not so much so that you wouldn't give them the "they'll break in a bit benefit of the doubt". There is also that "fit snuggly to better transfer heat" thing. Well they failed miserably...they seem to only slightly heat the back surfaces of my hands and fingers. By the end of my 30 minute ride from work my hands were as cold as when I didn't use heated gear. They are going to have to go back. The kicker here is that I was wearing an 80$ pair of venture heated glove liners that worked great. I opted to change to more the well known "brand name" glove so that I'd have only the one layer.First, I can't say enough about the quality of these gloves.They are well made ! The products design, however, (the actual hand part) was cut for dress glove, not a handlebar griping , controlling the throttle, hand warmer. Which means that too much effort is required to curl the hand around the bar. Other than that, it is a quality glove.
