This actually worked really well. This was done on untreated red/auburn hair. We sectioned it off dyed and wrapped it with aluminum foil while we waited 1 hour. We then rinsed it with cool water. It faded out completely around 2 weeks. You can accelerate the fade with clarifying shampoo. The tub contains enough product to do this 2 or 3 times. The pink worked much better than purple.Color didn’t last.If you have thinner less dense hair I don't recommend unless you want it to come out within a couple weeks. I've washed my hair every 4 days since it's been in and it's turned blue. I've washed it about 4 times. It's a darker color than I originally thought it would be, I'm a blonde and it was almost a very vibrant yet dark purple. It was still a great color.I wasn't sure how this was going to take to my hair as I've used manic panic many times, but never experienced the reaction I did when applying it before. It seemed to foam when I worked it into my hair. The color didn't sink into some parts of my hair and usually it runs off a little color when you first rinse it out of your hair, this time it didn't do it. So maybe I received a defective container because I've used manic panic multiple times in my life and never had such inconsistent color until now.Bought this because it was suppose to be like the Enchanted Forest I previously had my hair for 5 yrs where you could use it on darkish hair without bleaching but though noticeable it didnt last but i would definatly recommend it if your hair was lighterI have a niece and a nephew both under the age of 6. They wanted to get there hair colored. This is a great temporary product for the hair. They both have blonde hair and go to the pool everyday. after two weeks of the pool and baths it is just now faded and almost completely out. it can also be used on pets!Manic panic hair dye is wonderfully vibrant! It stains bleached hair or stripped colored hair very well. I applied the dye to my locs in January and it lasted the rest of the semester! Warning: it does stain other things including your bath tub and pillow cases. But it washed out pillows very easily, leaving a light stain (in some occasions). It also bleeds, so wearing a shower cap will save your cloths when getting ready in the morning.I would recommend bleaching your hair before using this product if you have natural dark brown to black hair. Because it's such a dark hair color already it will not show in your hair very well if you didn't pre-bleach your hair.I used quick blue bleaching powder and 40 developer to bleach my locs in 1 session. I didn't use any toners or purple shampoo. If you don't know which toner is appropriate for the shade of blond your bleached hair is, then I would recommend using the purple shampoo or consulting a professional stylist/YouTube (Brad Mondo is really good). The color is bold and will get you a lot of attention and I say embrace it! As it fades you will eventually get a nice turquoise color before it goes to green (kinda olive green) and then blond again.Hope you enjoy the new hair color!(P.s. I attached photos of the hair color progression from January - May)Disclosure: I have dreadlocks, and I wash my hair every 2-3 weeks. So for those who wash their hair more often this color may not last as long. I feel like someone may say something like that's gross ?. Listen, black hair texture doesn't retain/create a lot moisture and oils as other races. locs are a accumulation of dead hair which also can no longer retain moisture on it's own when it sheads away from the scalp completely. So washing it more often will dry out my hair and scalp.Ok friends.Want your hair to be THE BEST EVER?This is how you do it, take it from a 20 year dye-hard veteran (they featured me on their website a few times, too! Fun!)The first thing you have to do is break your habit of washing. It’s a painful two weeks with a lot of dry shampoo and patience. The worst thing you can do for your hair, whether colored or not, if use a regular shampoo every day. I literally never wash my hair. Ever. You can look up the “no p0o” movement for more info on that. After you realize that shampoo is the enemy, you need to realize how the process works.I’ve read a lot of reviews were people say you should condition your hair after lightning it however you are literally undoing all the goodness that you have just done.Lightening your hair opens up the lil follicles which makes them THIRSTY and want to pick up all that conditioning pigment.I often bleach, blow dry, and then when my hair is brutal, brittle, and sad I slather it in as much product as possible. The more you stretch out the hair dye, the more you’re just spreading around the conditioning part that no longer has the pigment which creates what they lovingly called in the salon “holidays “Sad bland undyed hair chunks. No do.I like to bleach my hair, blow dry, slather on the dye, and then put on a bandanna and do my chores or whatever. Before I go to bed, yes with the dye still in, I will blow dry it again to make sure it doesn’t smear everywhere.I rinse with cool water when I wake up.If its feeling dry, which it never has in 20 years of this, you can use your favorite hair oil product, or leave-in conditioner.People often spike their Conditioners with any remaining hair dye, however I never wet my hair so I never do that.Remember this stuff fades hair dye:-Sun-Chlorinated and salt water-Hairspray (alcohol strips color when rinsed)-Evil terrible Shampoo-Excessive heatSleeping in your hair dye makes it last at least three times longer. It has no damaging products, so think of it as a color-depositing hair mask.Go be bold and colorful, my lovelies!?Cole*Voodoo blue since it came out*Manic Panic User of all blue shades in total 21 almost 22 years now!My partner bought this for her hair, regularly dyes it but first time she had used this product. Did her usual bleach hair first then put the dye in, 2 tubs she bought and it's left her hair streaky where its only dyed the lighter bits and left the brown where the usual ones she buys covers it all. Was only because we couldn't get out the house due to self isolating why she bought this. Not as of she can send it back for a refund us it as it's bein used so she has wasted her money, so if theirs any women thinking of using this hair dye basically don't bother it's a waste of money and she's going to have to buy another to cover up the mess this one left.Bought this as a replacement for my normal purple toner, In the reviews I have seen it looks dark purple but this is definitely blue. If you want blue hair this is for you. It is easy to apply and sticks to your hair ( unfortunately for me I can’t get the blue out ha) gave one less star just because the colour wasn’t right but overall a good productEasy to use, very good colour, happy all round. Got a better purple colour at home than my hairdresser could achieve and kept pretty much 9/10ths of the tub on my short hair. Very impressive! Will see how long it lasts though! Hoping to get a few more uses out of it! Bought the brushes and cap etc, probably unnecessary but I think it has helped as well as going over with blow dryer intermittently for 30 minutes wait. Probably 35 minutes actually as I set the timer after relaxing with a beer and colour cap on!Brought this hair dye as the brand got it recommended to me. It didn’t work at all on my hair. My hair was bleached and it did not do anything still blonde after had to go out and buy a different brand in the end. I don’t know about other colours but this one just doesn’t work. Don’t waste your money.
