UPDATE: Two years later and I still love it!!This bike has lots of advantages: It is manageable (I'm 68 and can lift it with some effort), it is a blast to ride on electric, and it's pretty stable and comfortable. I'm definitely glad I bought it, as it gets me outside and gives me exercise I enjoy. But it is not perfect. For one, I had to take it to a bike shop because the brake pads and brake plates didn't line up. No matter how I fiddled with it, the brakes were always applied which made peddling hard. I wish I could say they fixed it, but they were only able to make it better, so peddling is still kind of hard, no matter which gear I am in. The other thing is the peddle-assist. The truth is that no matter how soft or slow you peddle, even on the lowest setting the assist mode will take over and will take you faster than you can peddle. That's fine if you want to go fast, but if you're looking for exercise, you can't use the peddle assist at all. So when I switch it on, I take it off peddle assist mode which allows me to use the grip as a throttle (like on a motorcycle), and I alternate between unassisted peddling, or going without peddling and only using the throttle. I find the latter very useful for taking off from a complete stop, as well as switching into when I am on a rough road or when I start to tire. So I've found a way to make it work for me. But it would have been nice to be able to use the peddle assist mode. The other thing is the adjustables, especially the seat and handlebar height. I find that if I have the adjustment levers loose enough that I can close them, the seat or handlebar just slides down to the lowest level. But if I tighten the lever, I can't close it. So I find I have to stop several times in a trip to readjust the height of either the seat or the handlebar.I made some adjustments. I found the grip on the peddles too aggressive, so I switched them out for peddles with a less aggressive grip that also fold, which makes it more convenient to store in the car trunk. I cut off the rubber end of one of the handles and inserted a rear view mirror, which, frankly, I don't see how I can live without. I added a softer seat which really helps. The inconveniences I mentioned are not deal-killers. They are annoyances or disappointments. I still love the bike and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fun ride, for exercise, for beating city traffic and avoiding public transportation during Covid. I love that I can peddle as far as I want and still be certain to make it home because I can ride myself back on electric. This freedom is fantastic.Professional Setup Mandatory! I say this because there WILL be additional repairs needed right out of the box. Mine arrived with destroyed upper headset bearings. After removing the battery, 10 of the bearings from the precision ring went everywhere. The brake calipers, though tight , were misaligned, and had to be totally reset. The main hinge is way too stiff, with no way to adjust it. The brake rotors do not have a uniform surface, and as a result , the brakes pulse, rather than provide even resistance when applied. Some bike shops will shy away from electric bikes, due to their insurance policies. Now that the nasty is out of the way, whats good about it?PRO: The motor is very quick, and fast right off the line It is clearly marked for 36volt, 250watt, 20" wheels, just in case some cop wants to give you a bad time. The pedal assist modes are not lame, but quickly get you up to 14.5, 17, and 19mph with no trouble. The ride is stable, and fairly comfy. The seat and handlebars adjust easily for a tall rider, and still feels stable.Included toolkit is adequate for basic maintenance, and doesnt feel flimsy.CONS: Poor Quality assurance from factory, the bike is NOT ready to ride directly from carton. CADENCE SENSOR is very flimsy affair! If pedal assist isnt smooth, look at your crankset for a lopsided disc, its not bolted in place, just push it square and close to the sensor and boom, you have pedal assist. In folded configuration, the battery connectors for the controller are unprotected, and there is no secure "home" position for the latch when the frame is opened.Although this bike folds, it is still a cumbersome presentation, with no real nesting place for the handlebars it may be smaller than unfolded, but its still not what I would consider an ideal traveller.Despite the affordable purchase price, the potential is there for needing to upgrade components in order to really be satisfied with the bike long term, or to cover damage from poor assembly at the factory. Is this bike suitable as a daily driver? I cant speak to that yet.Good bike for the price. Do yourself a favor and YouTube how to use the throttle. It’s very confusing. My back wheel makes a clink clank sound. I believe it’s from loose spokes??? Good speed, and a nice bike all things considered.I received my EI bike from Amazon yesterday putting it together was a breeze I didn’t even look at the instructions Kind of everything on there could be tightened up charger for four hours the green light came on I took it out for a quick ride around the block and I was very impressed and I would recommend you don’t get this bike I mean I was pretty much satisfied decent reviews I will be more than satisfied I don’t know what the problem was but I’m very satisfied with mine I’m thinking about getting my wife one great bike for the money. As of 3/22/2022I find that the battery holds up very well and I have not ran it down to one light it say it’s not good to run the battery down to one light so when it get down to the second light I recharge it for 4 hours I find that four hours is enough time to recharge it fully I will add 20 minutes to the charge timeI also find that the seat is very comfortable over all I I haven’t had any issues with the E bike to 50 W is good for now I’m thinking about getting a fat tire bike 500 w 750wI have a very steep hill coming home from work and I was surprised if this 250 e bike like made it up to hill The paddyst was amazing I didn’t think I could make it at this hill but I made it a little tired but I made it on flat surfaces is beautiful you can get it for about 24 miles an hour.
