I was a bit concerned about the sound quality as this is the first official transfer to C.D.! I am happy to say all my concerns were unwarranted because this C.D. sounds great!!! This is definitely a multi track recording I noticed this almost immediately as the music swirled around my head from speaker to speaker in crisp well balanced clarity!!! Thankfully this is not just recorded loudly but in high fidelity losing nothing in the transfer except the unwanted crackle & hiss you get with vinyl. Obviously I am not a hard core audio file dedicated to original master vinyl, in fact I believe after a certain point the human ear cannot discern discrepancies in sound quality & I can hear a mouse fart in the basement from the second floor of my house!!!! All kidding aside I am very happy with the sound quality of this C.D. as it is not advertised as being digitally remastered from the master recordings. As far as the quality of the songs April Wine has on this their third studio album, I think they are all quite strong. It's fun to revisit these old gems from my past & April Wine as a band has built a pretty huge song catalogue over the years. I have a very eclectic taste in music & some bands I can be satisfied with owning their greatest hits or box sets & other bands I want all of their studio albums. For me April Wine falls in the later category along with The Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, phish, AC/DC & a few others. It has been a daunting task keeping up with April Wine as I always seemed to be a step behind here in the states. Its been hard enough to replace everything from 8 track, vinyl, Cassettes to C.D. with easy to find music let alone bands from other country's. You would think it wouldn't be a big deal with our neighbors but bands like "Trooper" & "April Wine" particularly certain C.D.'s are very hard to get in the states. While "Rush", "Heart" The Guess Who", B.T.O. & others seem readily available for some reason other bands that are not necessarily obscure are harder to find. This may be for unknown legal reasons "Badfinger" has suffered from this almost immediately after gaining success!!! I remember laughing at my friends when "Nature of the Beast" came out & was such a huge hit because they thought this was a new band & I told them ..."Man this is like their 9th studio album!!!" Then I had the pleasure of playing some of their great album's so my friend's could catch up. It wasn't until I started replacing my April Wine collection onto C.D. that I had learned about their come back album's "Frigate", "Back to the Mansion" & "Roughly Speaking"...Yes I have been playing catch up with April Wine since I first heard them Cover "Hot Chocolates" Song " You could have been a lady" on their 2cnd album...well I've finally caught up!!!
