Awesome piece of kitchen equipment.. It came in a crate and was really well packaged. When I opened it the corner was bent which makes it a little hard to clean. It smoked a lot when I first turned it on but it quit smoking shortly after. It also heats unevenly. The right side gets considerably less heat then the left. I dont want to send it back.. I just think it would be more trouble than its worth. I can live with it. I sent a message and a photo to the seller telling them about the dent and they are supposed to refund $20.I decided I was finally going to get a flat top and so I my granite countertops built with a place to put it next to the stove where the splash guard on this griddle was about 3/4" above the counter top. Looks great, appears solidly built and was cooking just fine once I figured out to turn it on a low temperature setting rather than counting on the temps on the dial. Cleanup is a snap and the grease trap is sufficiently large to avoid having to clean it every use. Then this week it just stopped working in the middle of cooking some bacon. No weird noises, smells or any warnings that we could detect. The switch will click on, but no hum and no heat. One would expect a "commercial" flat top to last much longer than 6 months for home use.EDIT: Since it cannot be returned and I have heard nothing from customer service, I decided to take it apart and see what went wrong. One of the wires had come loose from the ceramic terminal block. The two upper wires showed bare wire from heat melting the insulation. I will be using Silicone High Temperature Braided Wire and another terminal block (the screws appear to be glued in place and will not back out or tighten) to fix this.I have to say overall i do like this flattop grille and it could be 5 star, however i was not prepared to go to the hardware store and purchase additional items to make it work. At least include a plug? You will also need to change your breaker to 30 amp which is understandable because of the dual settings. (that is a nice feature). The catch tray handle broke the first day and i will have to rivet it back on. And also the catch tray is way too small. If your looking for an inexpensive larger grille with dual settings that runs off of 110v I would recommend it. Just be prepared to do some electrical work.Tell You What. This is the Best Purtchase I have made in awhile for my Wife.. We Full Time live in Our 40ft 5th Wheel,, I have Completely Removed Our Stove and Oven is Just Storage,, Setting on Top Where Burners Was Is Setting This Grittal My Wife Cooks Everything on it And We Have Really Gotten SPOILED ROTEN from This..... Talk about a Flavor {KINDA LIKE SETTING AT A HOBOCHY GRILL} As Cooked Food You just can't Hardly Wait to get Served... Pray it Doesn't But if it Was to Go out I Would Purchase another as Soon as I could... We Seriously Love Our GrillCheap Chinese crap. The grill surface is not smooth- its like a raw, unsanded sheet of plywood. Does not heat even close to evenly. Doesnt get hot enough to even burn off the chemical they treat the steel with to keep it from oxidizing. Idk about you but i prefer my food without chemical leeching. 300°C is 572°f... after 2 hours of being allowed to heat up, it topped out at 302°f of the 550+ it is advertised to hit.Personally I have no idea how this item has any positive reviews. Bots probably.Product is built well and cooks evenlyI love my griddle. I worked in restaurants for years and wished I had one so now I do not as big but loving it. I bought my son one and he loves it just as much as I do.Gets super hot on one side and not the other but all and all it’s a good griddle. Stays hot for about 40 minutes after you shut it off. Make sure to spray the water on it after you cook on it or it won’t come clean. We love itGreat job
