For lighting propane grills, or pilot lights (in older houses) for water heaters, furnaces or stoves, this is a great little tool. No batteries or butane gas is required. Just press a button to create a very strong (10,000 volt) spark. It works in windy conditions where most butane lighters will not work. I bought this mainly for my propane grill after the igniter on the grill stopped working (and that igniter needed batteries). This device is also safer to use than matches to light propane or welding torches, camping lanterns stoves, etc. Very well worth the purchase price.
