“Painless Lady Shaver” lives up to its name. The box looks like it’s from the 80’s, and the manual was obviously not written by a native English speaker which leaves some instructions worded quite strange, but the shaver itself - Beautiful!It’s really well designed both with regards to how it fits in the hand, weight, and overall appearance. Very elegant. It uses batteries which is fine with me. The sides of the shaver head worked great for a first pass (trim) and then the main part of the head gave a nice close shave.I was really impressed with how smooth a shave I got with it.I was also impressed and grateful that it really was painless. I’d previously used an expensive, Braun series, electric shaver that I’d gotten from my boyfriend, but maybe those are made more for men’s faces. All I know is the Braun gave me a horrible shave and lots of razor bumps and hurt using. It made me think maybe electric shavers just weren’t for me, but I decided to try one specifically made for women, and I’m really glad I got this one. Painless, smooth shave, and no razor bumps.So far I’ve only used it wet in the shower. Looking forward to trying it dry, too.I had a rechargeable shaver that proved to be a disappointment. I thought if I wanted a really good shaver, I would probably have to spend some good money on it. Then I saw this and I saw the good reviews. I tried it and I'm amazed at how good this performed!! It is battery operated with 2 AAA batteries, which I thought would not be very powerful. Actually I was wrong. It shaves clean, quick, and because its small and not bulky, its easy to handle. It comes with a cleaning brush as well. The advantage of batteries is that there is no cord to contend with, so I can shave anywhere I want to and I don't have to be close to an outlet. I also found those rechargeable shavers to be annoying in that they fall out of the charger pretty easily, and that was annoying. If I didn't set it right on the charger properly, it didn't charge. I don't have to worry about any of that anymore. I just hope that this nice shaver also has longevity going for it. I think if I take good care of it, it will last just as long as any other expensive electric shaver. The shave head is built equally as sturdy as the rest. A nice feature is it has three different shaving sides. One is a little deeper for longer hair, the opposite side for short new growth, and a top screen shaver for those stiff hairs that shave nicely with that type of screen shaver. That means its pretty versatile too! I am extremely pleased.Good for touch ups, but not necessary. If you miss a patch this works but I don't even care enough to carry it in my purse like I intended. Dies kinda fast, doesn't do enough to make it worth the moneyOkay, so I felt like trying this thing out just for kicks. I've got some pretty gnarly body hair and I was curious how this little shaver would handle various arm hair lengths and what not.Long story short, the shaver has nice little side trimmers for longer hair which isn't necessarily meant for heavy duty body hair. However, if the hair is trimmed down already, the top shaver does a wonderful job getting rid of regrowth-length hairs.This thing runs on 2 AAA batteries, which kind of bummed me out, but that's my bad for not paying attention. Overall, a good device for lighter duty maintenance. Definitely a good travel-sized option for those on the go.My devices aren't the best for pictures, but attached are a comparison of what this thing tackled in a minute or two. Right hand shows the hair length, left hand is the work the device did by itself, no pre-trimming. So yeah, fun little device even for my random experiment. lolI absolutely love this product. I have always been a hairy female and that has not been much fun. I've tried the waxes and the creams and all the other things that you can try but none have compared to the ease of using this shaver. I was worried at first that would be like my grandmother's old ancient electric razor that would pull hair and just be generally uncomfortable but this one does not do any of that. It doesn't pull, it doesn't leave razor burn, I even use it on my upper lip and it works magically. I highly recommend this over and over and over and over.I really like this shaver. It is a very sleek design and easy to hold. The slim design makes it versatile for any body part. I love that you can actually wash the top of it with water instead of only using a brush (it does come with a brush as well though). I also like that it takes batteries instead of keeding a charger because if it dies I wont have to wait for it to charge! The only thing that could be improved is the design of the side trimmers- because they dont have a guard there is a possibility to cut yourself if you're in a rush not being careful. Overall this is a great shaver and I would recommend it.I purchased for my tween daughter's first solo underarm shave. She is HFA and is very sensitive to touch & loud sounds and she did not have a problem with this shaver. It is easy to hold, quiet, & did not cause any knicks or irritation. She's very happy with this purchase.I love this for when I'm on the go and my legs get bad, but it's not quite the smooth shave I hoped for.
