I bought it as a toy for my cat, who loves black pom poms, only black, and with a string or rubber band. The result is that my cat has a black string and a black fuzzy thing hanging from his mouth that looks like a mouse He lost his old "mouse" and we bought this as a replacement. This has an elastic band, I presume to attach to a ponytail for most people, but a tail for my cat. He plays with this all the time... he wont play with actual cat toys that look like mice. But, he carries this thing around all the time. And, it has not yet ripped, torn, or fallen apart in anyway. If it can hold up to my playful cat, it will probably hold up pretty good as a hair accessory!
