I very rarely write reviews on a product immediately after purchasing in order to give it time to pass or fail. In this case it has been 4 years to this day since I purchased this skillet. I must start by saying that I'm not sure if the negative reviews I have read are accurate. Reading some of the reviews and looking at the some of the pictures provided it appears that either the reviewer failed to review the exact product featured here or Amazon posted their review to the wrong product.In 4 years I have not had a single problem with my skillet. Some reviewers wrote that the dimensions are false claiming a 20 inch skillet. The title clearly states a 16 inch skillet and the pan size in the description is accurate at 16 in. Long x 12 in. Wide x 3 in. Deep.Regarding the exploding lid, mine has not so much as developed a crack. Regarding the non-stick surface peeling, as you can see from my photos, it still looks brand new.My only possible explanation is that maybe the product has been made with cheaper material and far less quality since April 3, 2019. So I got really lucky. It is also possible that some reviewers are simply not telling the truth and attempting to get a refund or a replacement for their piece of garbage which was not what they were sent (the ole switch-a-roo). I can personally attest the that as a reseller of DVD movies here on Amazon. An example of that could be the person who claimed the lid exploded after handwashing yet they posted a picture of it clearly in their dishwasher (IDIOT). Not to say that it isn't dishwasher safe but why lie? Personally I fail to see a reason for putting it in the dishwasher. It is a very open pan with no weird or troublesome corners. I hand wash mine in the sink in like 30 seconds. Of course you shouldn't dish wash the base as it appears to have metal parts that could rust.Bottom line: I have found mine to be an excellent purchase that has lasted for 4 years now and still going strong!
