I like about everything Fender, and I like this cord. The problem is, what makes it so strong, tuff and durable also makes it ridged and ridged cords don't lay so well. I cant tell you how many times I've tripped over this cord or put a foot right through a loop. I've had other ridged cords but not so much as this one. I only use cords at practice, rehearsals or during studio work so yes it does the job. However I would never use this during a show or on any live stage! It does its job but be careful and don't get caught in a loop and trip. It would be a shame to trip and lose a guitar to the hard floor! These were really inexpensive for a Fender and they do the job. They are not as well shielded as some cables that cost three or four times as much, but they are as good as cables that cost twice as much.It was a gift for grandson who was well pleased. These cables look great and are easy to pick out from the rest of the band's spaghetti at the end of the night. Shipping was fairly quick. The signal to noise ratio is more than acceptable and build quality seems very solid. The only downside is the way they tend to get "curled up" when you're playing a gig and switching guitars two or three times a set (I go back and forth between a couple Teles and an acoustic). Just picking the guitars up and setting them down again is enough to get the cords all twisted up, not with each other, but themselves. As some others have mentioned, they just don't want to lay flat. I have to spend a few minutes at the start of every set "spinning" my guitars around to get the loops out of the cords. Other than this one problem, however, the cords are awesome. And like I said, the cool look is enough to keep me using them despite the curling problem. I bought the 15-foot versions in green, red and blue.I bought the 10 foot Candy Apple Red cable from Amazon. I wanted something bright to differentiate from the other cables onstage. Unboxing the cable I found the outer jacket hard and it doesn't lie down flat because of lack of elasticity. The ends are well made but because of the overall appearance and stiffness I wouldn't gig with this and it especially wouldn't look good onstage. But hey, let's face it-- it is a $9.99 cable with free Prime shipping. If you're a beginner and on a budget this cable will work for you.I'm going to work at flexing it and will use it at home because I need a short home practice cable. If you can only afford this cable it will work ok for home use if you work at flexing it. But don't buy it intending on using it onstage. You could take a fall tripping over it.Not the quality of my other cables. This was purchased for spare equipmentI know some people think you have to spend a lot of money to get a good cable, while others think that the inexpensive cables are all they need. Well, these cables are perfect for the budget minded who want quality.. They tend to stand up to my abuse and at the same time have a good look feel and sound quality. They also coil up nice for when it's time to move, or just keep the studio tidy.. over all.. I like em.It was time to purchase new cables and use my old cables as backup in case of an emergency on stage failures etc. These cables distinctively sound better then any other cables even others that were Fender brand also that I've had! I'm completely satisfied with my purchase and intend to purchase again as needed from you! Thank you very much! Ross "live"Another great instrument cable from Fender. Although the jacks seem a little cheaper and flimsier than on some of their more expensive offerings, this is a good value cable, given the length and the price. Besides, saying "it's a little less sturdy than other Fender cables" is all relative though, this cable is still excellent quality, and is tough enough to endure the usual abuse an instrument cable receives. For the money, you can't really go wrong. To put it simply, like any good product, it does what it does, it does it well, and it will do it reliably, for a long time.I usually keep my cables rolled up in a gig bag. When Im ready to play i will unroll the cable plug it in but because the cable is made of a really crap plastic material it makes it really inflexible and awkward when im trying to move around whilst playing because it gets tangled up. I would say avoid fender cables because they give alot of feedback in my experience. I know it doesn't really make sense because fender make some of the best guitars in the world but their cables just aren't on the same levelVery good quality cable, feels and seems well made.. translucent so you can see the braided wire which is very nice.So far it hasn't coiled up and tied it's self into a knot like some cables do, but will see if it stands up to heavy usage. If it does then I will defo order a couple more for spares. May even cut one up and using pancake jacks make some nifty patch cables. From the photos, I though this cable would be braided like an old school cable. In reality it’s covered in a translucent plastic over the green braiding. It’s not a deal breaker but not what I was expecting!Sound is great though and the cable does exactly what you’d expect.I go through guitar leads like their is no tomorrow, mainly ear around the phono plugs mean they require resoldering regulary. This is why I went for these ones they have additional support at that end meaning they dont flex as often. Hopefully they will last lonher that my normal ones do, and if they don't fender have a lifetime guarantee on these.
