I am a beginner and I found this piano under my budget. It comes with note stickers to place your notes on your piano keys which I loved at first, but now have faded or are peeling off. The sound quality is a little iffy. Depending on which timbre you use. Certain notes don't sound good. I know my way around music, I play the flute as my primary instrument so it was fairly easy to learn piano since they are both in the same clef, (almost). Overall I do use it to practice some songs but the price is what really determines the piano.Given the very low price of this keyboard set, I wasn't expecting much; a sentiment that continued once I unpacked the kit and felt the ultra-light weight of the keyboard itself. I was, however very surprised and pleased to find that my preconceived notions were WRONG.Yes, this keyboard weighs practically nothing. The housing is made of plastic and feels somewhat flimsy. You certainly wouldn't take this keyboard to a "gig" if you were a performer (which I am). Of course, that isn't at all what this unit is intended for. This keyboard is clearly meant to be a learning tool. In this context, the light weight could actually be considered a "plus." Likewise, the somewhat less-than-robust construction shouldn't deter anyone from considering this unit. It is intended to be more-or-less stationary. As a learning tool, this unit is wonderful. On offer are "ONE KEY TEACHING" and "FOLLOW TEACHING," both of which function exactly as their description suggests. Highly intuitive and fun to use! Most surprising to me was the sounds available; both in quality and quantity. There are 300 preset voices, all of which sound substantially more pleasing than that of most "budget" keyboards. I can definitely imagine using these sounds for "demo" recordings (I'm primarily a songwriter) at the very least. There's also a VIBRATO button which adds a pitch variation effect to whatever voice is currently selected. Nice touch. Also available is a RHYTHM section which allows one to play 300 distinct drum patterns in 26 styles. The sounds, while obviously synthetic are acceptable; if not remarkable. Each drum pattern also features a variation with the touch of the FILL IN button. And should none of the present drum patterns suit you, you can play your own in real time with the eight DRUM PAD buttons located directly above the keys. For the novice (or not), there are SINGLE FINGER and FINGERED CHORD buttons which allow the playing of chords with... a single finger. This feature only works on the lower end of the keyboard, allowing the playing of chords with the left hand while playing other parts with the right. The drums and chord functions can be combined to create a RHYTHM pattern. In this mode, the FILL IN button is available to spice up your rhythms. The TEMPO can be adjusted with - and + buttons, and the tuning can be adjusted with the FINE TUNE buttons in a similar fashion. You can also use the TRANSPOSE buttons to change the key of your rhythm patterns. Can you tell yet that this keyboard is DEEP? There are a surprising number of features here. There's a RECORD section which allows you to save a performance and play it back. This records all the sounds you make, including any drum or rhythm patterns and even a vocal if you plug the included microphone into the appropriate input on the back of the unit!Other unexpected features include a MIDI IN and MIDI OUT jack; allowing the unit to be used as a controller for any outboard voice units or with a computer sequencing program. There are also USB IN and USB OUT jacks for additional connectivity. Naturally, a HEADPHONE jack (1/8") is present for silent practice. Inserting the plug from a pair of headphones (included in the package) automatically mutes the internal stereo speakers.Speaking of the package, the entire kit includes:1. The keyboard itself2. A fairly sturdy "Z-shaped" stand (assembly required) which is height adjustable.3. An X-braced collapsible stool4. A microphone5. Headphones6. A sheet music holder that attaches to the top of the keyboard7. An instruction manual. My only complaint about the manual is its bevity. Many of the available features aren't covered within, forcing the user to learn through trial-and-error. Fortunately, most of the features not specifically covered are somewhat obvious in their operation. I would assume a more thorough owner's manual is available through the Moukey/Donner website; although I haven't confirmed this (yet).I've literally only scratched the surface of all that this keyboard can do. This unit is a fantastic bargain (especially at the low Amazon price) and would make an ideal first keyboard for a student or indeed any casual player.Nice sturdy product. My daughter loves practicing her leasons on it. Great sound qualityGreatWhen I was a middle school aged child my mother bought an inexpensive cord organ with numbers on the keys that corresponded to the music book. I learned to play on that easy to learn instrument. This lightweight 54-key keyboard piano reminds me of the one I experienced in my childhood.Recently on my 72 birthday, my niece brought 2 of her son’s from Illinois to my home in Colorado. The keyboard arrived the day before they arrived and I set it up in my office. The 10 and 12 year old boys played with it and liked it so much that I bought another one and sent it to their home in Illinois so they can experience the joy I have playing this instrument.Including shipping this quality keyboard was less than $100,, a price that is probably lower than what my mother paid for the the one I learned on.This keyboard has many bells and whistles. While it does not have a number system, it has stickers for each key that shows what that sound looks like on a music score. It also has a demo that shows the keys being pressed while the song is playing. The thing I find most useful is the play along teaching screen that allows the user to see and press the keys to learn the song. This is a wonderful, affordable, and fun way to learn and practice on the keyboard without an instructor and the price of this keyboard is unbelievably inexpensive for the quality. It operates on batteries or an electric plug. I especially enjoy the headphone chord that allows the player to practice without anyone hearing it except the player.A sing-a-long microphone is provided too.I am very happy with this instrument and recommend it to family, friends, and others who want to learn how to play the piano or for those who already know how to use this rich sounding keyboard at a bargain price.Enjoy! If I hadn’t missed the return window, this would have gone back. Now I’m looking for headphones with a longer chord because the short chord will only reach if it comes across the top of the keyboard, putting it in front of the keys which is distracting. I chose this one and paid more because I needed the headphones. The instructions might mean something to someone who doesn’t need them, but I found them to be confusing and inadequate.I bought this cheapest piano because I wanted to see if I stuck with learning it before I bought an actually good piano. In that sense, it fulfilled its purpose of being basically functional. Some limitations below:- There are five volume bars: the two lowest volume settings are the same, which is 'no volume'.- There seem to be many piano tones, but most of these are repetitious.- No usb output for midi.- 'Record' and playback functions, including percussion, are limited. Recording can only record a few keys at a time for a short length. It's fine. Percussion though, can't be recorded, since when you switch out of percussion mode you lose your percussion loop. Not sure this is a big deal.If this is good for beginners then a better manual should have been included. Sound quality is ok, but far from being superior. Other wise it was very affordable.I bought this keyboard piano for my niece as her 8th birthday gift. She has learned piano for a while and she really loves playing. It comes a stool, a stand and headphones, which their height and size are adjustable. They’re very sturdy. It has some fantastic features, such as multifunctional panel, smart teaching, double speaker design-will be silent if the headphones plugged. Easy for children to practice or self learning at home. It’s a great alternative of expensive piano for beginners with such valuable price. Must recommend.Just no access to the training sessionsI bought this for my nephew, he has been trying to learn keyboard for his school percussion and I've just been informed its not working, I'd like a full refund please, was his birthday just the other day and don't know if I had it in box wrapped for too long but I do t think that would effect its use. Please full refund my account to purchase another one. Thank you.as above
