These are amazing bikes! First, they're well built and durable. I bought two of these before my wife and I went on a trip to the smoky mountains to visit my family because my sister and brother in law, who we were camping with live there and love to ride e-bikes all the time. We took some pointers from them ( the biggest being get something waterproof or water resistant) and after some time I settled on these. I really lucked out because they were better than expected. I've been riding motorcycles since I was 9yo and could tell that there were some important ungraded components on these bikes but didn't know what to expect. I've had them about 6 weeks now and have put 180 miles on them so here is my honest assessment and some fun facts. I'm 6'1 255lbs and my wife is 100 lbs lighter than me... we roll side by side down the road at 35 mph which is top speed using the b switch which is both front and rear wheel power. They are equipped with full working suspension very similar to that of a motorcycle while still maintaining a light enough weight that they are easy to load in the back of a pickup truck (95 lbs). I have a 1500 Silverado Custom (5.5' bed) and they fit perfectly. I can strap them down and close the tailgate with about 3 inches to spare between the rear tire and tailgate. The brakes are good but not great for my riding style. They are equipped with front and rear disk brakes and 4 piston calipers using a semi metallic pad. I am an aggressive rider so I just ordered a set of metallic pads to replace my rear set because they're pretty much gone. They use the same pads front and rear Shimano G04s and the replacements are about $18 so not a big deal at all. The fat tires are a game changer because they not only feel smoother they absorb a lot of impact from bumps and pot holes (I live in FL so plenty of pot holes here). The pedal assist works well and about the same you would find with any e-bike but I can say I've pedaled mine around a little bit just messing around and it's not bad at all for a 95 lb bike. The battery life is very good although I never ride mine to try to get the best longevity from a charge. I ride fast and hard, on battery, and with both front and rear motors engaged (b button) and I get about 20 miles on a single charge although I never ride them all the way down to empty. There is a nice digital display on the handlebars that display your odometer, miles and time ridden, battery status (1-5 bars like on your cell phone) and large speed display, including tenths of a mph which is accurate because I checked it against my gps on my phone. The seat is surprisingly very comfortable, WAY better than a traditional bike seat. We have ridden these through mud and 4-5 inches of salt water with no problems at all. we typically ride slow through water because I don't know how much stray the batteries would take although the design protects the contacts between the bike and removable battery very well. I will say that I didn't read the instructions really good when putting them together so I might have missed it but I will say that after I put them together I couldn't get them to turn on. It's very simple, after you assemble yours which is easier with two people (someone holding parts in place while the other tightens down the screws) you make sure the switch on the battery is on, press and hold the rectangular button between the up and down arrows on the left side handlebars. The display will come on and it automatically starts in electric 1st gear, after a while you'll find yourself going ahead and arrowing up to 5th gear before you take off, it's not like a gas engine where it would be impossible to do that it's more of a speed regulator so it just determines how fast it will go. Electric power is instantaneous so if you're new to the concept or haven't spent time on an e-bike make sure you start out with the motor selection button on A which is rear wheel drive only (also located on the left handlebar). They're equipped with a decently loud horn and integrated rear tail light turn signals / no front signals. The headlight is an always on halo and switched headlight which is bright and very functional. A lot of people have asked about the plates on the front, I ordered them on amazon, just look up novelty motorcycle plates and customize to your taste. I have put several accessories on these two including, swivel bar mount cup holders ( right side mounted), rear view mirror (right side because so much on the left handlebar) and a phone mount on the left handle bar, all bought on amazon. I say if you're seriously looking for something that will give you a lot of return on investment, buy these bikes! I was not paid for nor did I receive anything for my review, I just want to help others make informed decisions.
