Okay so let's first accept that we're all a different kind of nerdy. There's something in your life that you love to an unreasonable extent and if someone starts you talking about it, you'll be going for a while. That's me and sharpening things.I keep our kitchen knives meticulously sharpened, their edges keen, and their steel without blemish. I do this somewhat obsessively. I've tried several by-hand products (the rolly one, the one with the swinging arm) and I have to say that this is the only solution. It's fast, doesn't require technique, doesn't damage the blade, and overall just nails the job. It fits on my countertop easily, so I just flip it on and run a knife through a couple times then bam, a well-honed blade.
